So once again, another post about how much I’m enjoying this place.
I feel like at the moment, I can’t wipe the smile off my face. Today so far I have taken the dog for a walk, done a few loads of washing, weeded the lawn and well maybe a little ‘internet research’. (hey, facebook can be very informative). So nothing too exciting but it’s everything I want to do and never had time to.
Amoung my facestalking, I have also been looking for inspiration. I’m a hairdresser by trade and am starting up my own home based business, here in Quilpie, which has just taken off. While I was living and working full time in south east Queensland, there was inspiration everywhere, from clients coming in, to the awesome girls I worked with, there were always new magazines around and even just going on a retail therepy trip. I guess I never noticed how much I was aware of my suroundings and took inspiration from different looks and styles.
So now that I’m a little more isolated, I’m finding I have to be a bit more pursuent of inspiration. So, I have started by purchasing a few of the gossip mags, for celebrity inspiration (which I have never before done in my life!) and have spent the morning oggaling over the gorgeous styles on http://graceloveslace.com.au/. They are oh so fantastic! So now that I am aptly inspired, I’m off to make some choc chip cookies before my handsome husband gets home for lunch. Yes, that’s right I get to have lunch with hime daily. 50’s house wives, eat your heart out!!!
P.S. Curtousy of the new Who magazine, loving Guy Sebastian, his gorgous wife and there little boy, Jules and Hudson James. What a gorgous family, and some fantastic hair too!
Well last night was a great night, not only because we were celebrating our friend Annie’s birthday but when we sat down, she announced that she had just gotten engaged!!!!!
So there was plenty to celebrate last night and celebrate we did. It really is a great group of people we have befriended out here and though I am still missing my besties a little, I can’t help but fall in love with this place.
I know it’s a little early in the relationship to say the big L word, but really it’s been so great. And I now want them to come out here with us. I really had this feeling even if I did like it here, I would always feel this pull to go back ‘home’ and see everyone, now all I want is to show this place off to everyone. hahaha
Really enjoyinng it and MUST TAKE MORE PHOTOS to share the beauty out here.
But for now I’m off to eat the yummy home made pies and chips I have been pottering over all day.
We have arrived safe and well in Quilpie and have been here for 2 whole weeks now.
That time has gone so quickly!
But i have settled in really well and loving it. I’ve even done some baking and the highlight so far……. BINGO.
No, really we played bingo today. Hahaha.
At the local club (as in sports club, not night club) they have bingo on every Saturday. It was pretty fun, didn’t win anything but that’s ok, it was fun and something to keep the housewives of this town occupied. lol.
Well I’m off now to enjoy some birthday celebrations for a friend. That means getting dressed up to go out on the town. Wranglers and all. Yes, I have my first pair of wranglers, rinestones, and pink stitching and all.
Should be a great night, I will have to show some picks of my trendy threads. Maybe tomorrow…….afternoon.
